Revelation Series #67: Written to Slaves, Not Saints

I loved your aside, your word choice of the adjective “ineffable” in 2Cor 12:4; it does, indeed, refer to something which is too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words. And in my very own search to better translate the Greek word “arrEta” in this verse, I’ve tried on a number of different ways of reading it … hence, I immediately tried our your choice of “ineffable.”

However, when I again looked it up in Zodhiates’s Word Study I noted it’s a combination of the negative privative and the word family “rhema” (“an expression”), so rather than use this, the fine word you’ve come up with, I think it best (for me) to just stick with the simpler “un-expressible,” mainly because the word “rhEmata” is also used in this verse …”un-expressible expressions” …

Thank you so much for your descriptions of being a “slave of Christ”. Along this line I must thank you more than I can say for your presentation in Vancouver in Sept. on this topic-of what it means to be a slave of Christ. It touched me deeply and gave me an understanding far beyond measure of what it does mean. I hope everyone will listen to that presentation. I wish someone would make it possible to download it. I appreciate all your work, study and sacrifice for us. What an indescribable peace the truth brings to this mortal. I thank God he has used you to bring light to those He choses.
