Martin, your Christmas music story is so true. Some Christmas songs are very good and can take us to a nice place emotionally. I used to lead music for a teeny-tiny group of believers. One day I began to play a Christmas song out of season. I don’t remember the song, but I do remember that it was a great song that could be played anytime of the year and still be appropriate. I also remember the reaction I got – they nearly ran me out of the building. I couldn’t finish the song due to the verbal and facial negative reaction I received from Christians.
